  • Bisque is the name of a unique golf competition in which players use their handicap strokes on whichever hole(s) they want. What makes this game unique, though, is that the holes of any given golf course are ranked according to their difficulty, and the handicap strokes are played based on the level of difficulty of the hole.
  • Difficulty of a hole is defined as how hard it is to make par on that hole. On the scorecard, the holes are numbered 1 through 18, “1” being assigned to the most difficult hole and “18” to the easiest hole. So, a long, narrow par-3 would be more challenging than, say, a 480-yard par-5
