- Bobby Jones is a golf format intended for two players with different abilities, with one being better than the other. This would mean that the better player would win. But there’s a twist. On each hole, the two players hit their drives, and then they switch balls and play each other’s tee shots until the ball is holed
- To ensure that the better player does not intentionally hit a bad drive, that player tees off first. The weaker player hits their drive second and has the option to either play their own drive or the other player’s drive.
- If handicaps are used, and the difference between both players is very significant, then even switching balls won’t work in favor of the weaker player. In that case, only partial handicaps are applied.
