  • There are many instances in which a player hits a bad shot and wishes for a chance to do it over, and mulligan gives the player that chance.
  • In golf, a mulligan is a do-over or a second chance at a shot with no penalty. It is a stroke that is played from the same spot as the previous shot, which the player wants to do over.
  • While Mulligans are not allowed under the rules of golf, they are used by players in casual games.
