- Let It Ride is a betting game in which points are awarded at each hole based on the player’s score. A bogey is usually worth 5 points, a par is worth 15 points, and birdies and eagles are worth 30 points each, although sometimes eagles are worth 60 points too.
- Let It Ride is similar to the Stableford scoring method, but it is more complicated than that. In Stableford, points are accumulated over the 18 holes and aggregated at the end. However, in Let It Ride, players have the option to either bank their points after each hole or carry them over or “let it ride” to the next hole in hopes of scoring double on the next hole. When a player lets their score ride, they do not earn any points for that hole, but the points for the next hole get doubled.
- A player who scores a double bogey or worse loses all points that have not been banked
- For example, if a player scores a bogey and lets it ride to the next hole, the bogey is now worth 10 points, the par 30 points, and the birdie and eagle worth 60 points. If they let it ride after the next hole too, then the points would become 20, 60, and 120, respectively. Suppose a player scores 3 bogeys in a row without banking, then their total after the third hole would be 5+10+20 = 35 points.
- The player with the most points at the end of the round wins the pot.
