- In this game, any player who holes a shot played from off the green wins the game/bet.
- Before the round begins, some things need to be decided among the group of golfers; whether chip-ins played from the fringe count as nasties and whether a putt holed off the green counts as nasties. In most games, using the putter for the hole-out does not count as nasties.
- Nasties is a betting game and can be played for points or money. Whenever a player wins a “nasty” they can either get a set number of points or an agreed-upon amount of money from the other players.
